I have a Walbro 255 installed up right with the 45 degree strainer. When I installed the pump the strained had to be bent and touching the bottom of the tank. I was getting a lot of noise, vibrations and high pitched whine coming from the fuel pump. I replaced the 45 with the 90 degree strainer and the pump noise and vibrations are now gone.
