The Holden Alloytec V6 engine powered multiple generations of Australian-built Commodores, evolving from the VZ through to VE models, covering LE0 and LY7. First introduced in 2004 replacing the Ecotec, this GM High Feature V6 (HFV6) engine saw several iterations including the base 175kW, high-output 190kW, and later transitioned to SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) variants producing up to 210kW. The engine family featured dual overhead cams, variable valve timing, and while designed in the US was manufactured at Holden’s Fishermans Bend facility until local production ceased.
